Kinja'd!!!

Let me start this off by saying that I have absolutely no idea what I am doing. I know just enough about Photoshop to be dangerous. But anyway, Planelopnik needs a logo, and this is my first stab at making one. Any constructive criticism, especially by those who know what they hell they are doing, would be appreciated.

I think I would prefer just a top-view silhouette of a Spitfire or something.

Looks great! Might suggest an outline or drop shadow on the text to make it stand out a little more.

I considered that, experimenting with a couple of different open source silhouettes. I found a site of simple graphics of jets, where I found this F-35. But I'll try some other silhouettes. I don't think the text works.

Agreed, but I don't know how to do that. Like I said, just enough to be dangerous. There's also not much room to work with.

Where is the miata!? And where is the A10 warthog?

I was going to use an A-10, but I haven't found a good one yet. But it's still a work in progress.

Actually, better idea: the Opposite Lock logo is often just a steering wheel silhouette. Why not have a propeller silhouette be the Planelopnik logo?

Another good thought. Simple is better.

I spend a long time looking for an appropriate, public domain bit of propeller art. No luck. I've got some other ideas that will post later this morning. That's a gorgeous plane, btw. What is it?

Cessna 195. 1950s, post-war era, the last of the big round engines in general aviation design.

No to the F-35. Make it a warthog.

I have looked and looked and looked and looked for some appropriate, public domain A-10 artwork. I tried making my own. But I found nothing good. I wanted the plane to be going bottom-left to top-right, and this F-35 was perfect. But you're not the first to express displeasure with the F-35, and I'm not crazy about the plane either.
